What we will do and why

The project aims to develop a digital customer experience that uses cutting edge technology such as AI and machine learning to offer tailored advice and support at scale to vulnerable consumers at risk of being left behind in the energy transition. It will be designed with input from service delivery partners through workshops and interviews. The project includes designing, building and testing the tool, and a service trial with consumers to gather feedback and assess the tools' success.

Key deliverables

  • A digital tool that utilises cutting edge technology to provide tailored support to vulnerable consumers at risk of being left behind in the energy transition.
  • A trial of the tool to gather feedback from customers and delivery partners, capture the benefits of the tool, and analyse data to assess the tool’s success.
  • A public summary report highlighting the key outputs, deliverables, and learnings of the project, which will be published on the UK Power Networks innovation website.

Target outcomes

  • The project aims to develop a digital tool that uses cutting edge technology to offer tailored advice and support at scale to vulnerable consumers at risk of being left behind in the energy transition. The expected outcomes include enhanced support for vulnerable consumers, increased efficiency for service delivery partners, and the ability for consumers to self-serve using digital channels.

Measures of success

  • Accepted by the service delivery partners as addressing their insights and feedback, and will be effective in supporting consumers directly and/or enabling service delivery partners to more effectively support consumers.
  • C3 from customers to demonstrate that the tool provides helpful tailored advice and support.
